Thanks for dropping by. If you like a great read, you've come to the right place. Please leave a comment, I’d like to get to know you.
I set out to write science fiction but got distracted into writing medieval history. Since I was a child I have always written poetry. I wasn't sure where that fitted in with my public persona as an author. I got confused about whether to keep the subjects separate or together.
After many false starts, and much trial and error, I have decided to be who I really am – all of it. I write poetry, science fiction, and medieval history. You'll find it all here, but if you're only interested in part of it, sign up and tick the box for science fiction or history.
You will be offered a free book, depending on your choices:
Medieval History: Life in a Medieval Castle - illustrated book
Science Fiction: A Brief History of Science Fiction - illustrated and hyperlinked book
Here you'll find stories and information about the many different sides of my writing:
* Medieval history, especially Swansea and Gower:
It's a wonderful area with stunning views and a fascinating history. These books are factual, but a long way from boring. I set out to make history fun and accessible. The books are short, told as stories, and illustrated with beautiful line drawings, but academically sound. They're available in print or ebook. You can see them in the sidebar. My history blog posts cover different aspects of medieval history.

There is a page here for each of my books, with a synopsis and purchase details:
* My science fiction series Flight of the Kestrel:
My interest in history is now taking a back seat as I devote more time to science fiction. There is a page here giving details of progress on the series Flight of the Kestrel. The first book in the series, Intruders, was published in April 2016, Alien Secrets, the second book, was published in October 2018, and there are already further books waiting to be worked on.

* My poetry:
In May 2010 I had a stroke, and while in hospital wrote a flood of poetry. I put it into a booklet, had it printed, and sold copies for charity. I also kept a diary of my recovery, and from it have written several articles, some of which have been circulated within the medical profession. For the full story and a sample of my poems, see the Stroke Recovery page on my personal blog.
I have now reworked them and published them as an ebook, My Stroke of Inspiration. New print copies are available from me via email and PayPal, £2.99 each for 22 poems.
The About Me page has a biography and all my contact details and a link for a media kit.
All posts are tagged so are easy to filter. But who knows, maybe if you're a science fiction fan, you might find the history fascinating, just as I did? And if you're here for the history, give the science fiction a try!
